So where will we end up in 100 years? After the roar of the 20's the 20th century saw beauty ideals return to a love of curves, for instance with my matriarch Marilyn Monroe who was worshiped for her hourglass figure and platinum hair. In the later end of the century however sexy reflected an increasingly thinner and thinner female striking concern for many who worry it's promoted an unhealthy role-model for younger women. Will consensus change again and return a healthier more natural female form to drive desire? And can it please not be a blonde white woman? (Sorry Marilyn)
Style Chaser posted this great Timeline of Beauty. What you'll notice is that after the 1930's beauty and female sexiness changes decade to decade. Once flesh was openly revealed the changes became more fashion and trend related, but the speed at which society changes it's group ideals is staggering. You can only assume the next 100 years will be even more rapid. So what does that mean? Let me know where you think we're heading. Do you think the beautiful plus-sized models who are breaking into mainstream advertising, like Jennie Runk for HM will diversify the ideals?
